The Chicago Bungalow Association in partnership with ComEd®, Peoples Gas, North Shore Gas, and Nicor Gas, provide customers with free home energy upgrades with the Home Energy Savings Program.

 

The program offers a free home energy assessment and may include free weatherization services and installation of energy-saving products to help increase comfort, lower utility bills, add value and extend the life of your home.

IS YOUR HOME DRAFTY?

APPLY NOW!

ELIGIBILITY​

  • Single-Family home or Two-Flat building type

  • Built at least 30 years ago

  • Owner occupied

  • If applying for a Two-Flat, both apartments must be inhabited, and the building owner must occupy one apartment.

  • Located in Cook County

  • Home has not been previously weatherized through the Energy Savers Program

  • Household income of 80% Area Median Income (AMI) or lower is required

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS​
  1. Apply—It’s easy! Just complete the simple online application.

  2. Home Assessment—Once your application is approved, our contractor will contact you to schedule a home assessment to discover areas prone to air leaks and drafts, explain program qualifications and review the work plan with you.

  3. Weatherization Work—After your home eligibility is verified during the assessment, we will send an approval email and letter so you can schedule your weatherization work.
