FREE HOME ENERGY UPGRADES
The Chicagoland Vintage Home Association administers the ComEd® Energy Efficiency Program energy upgrades offering, providing free weatherization services with an emphasis on attic and sidewall insulation, air sealing, health and safety measures, and installation of energy-saving products to income eligible homeowners of vintage homes in Cook County, Illinois.
This is a pilot program that is currently limited to residents of the following suburbs: Oak Forest, Midlothian, Lansing, Posen, Crestwood, Thornton, Calumet City and Blue Island.

ELIGIBILITY

Vintage single-family home built at least 30 years ago
-
Home must be owner-occupied and receive electric delivery service from ComEd

Home must be located in Oak Forest, Midlothian, Lansing, Posen, Crestwood, Thornton, Calumet City or Blue Island.

Household income of 80% Area Median Income (AMI) or lower—see chart below:

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

Apply—It’s easy! Just complete the simple application and submit to CVHA.

Home Assessment—Once your application is approved, our contractor will contact you to schedule a home assessment to discover areas prone to air leaks and drafts, explain program qualifications and review the work plan with you.

Weatherization Work—After your home eligibility is verified during the assessment, CVHA will send an approval letter so you can schedule your weatherization work.
ENERGY UPGRADES SERVICES
Services include attic and sidewall insulation, air sealing, health and safety measures, and installation of energy-saving products.
